Mastercraft tires goes back to early 1900’s, known as the Falls Rubber Company. This company manufactured Fall’s brand tires and Evergreen tubes, right at the boom of motorized buggies and Model A’s. What a time to be in the tire industry. Think that competition was scarce? Actually, in the home state of Ohio, where the company started, there were 40 other companies competing for rubber business.
Roughly, 25 years, the company operated one shop. It was over time that the rubber company applied its knowledge to inner tubes and tires.
It was not until 1930, they experienced their first ownership change; when Giant Tires & Rubber Company and The Cooper Corporation purchased them. Mastercraft was a brand of Falls tires used by the company since its beginning.
In 1946, the parent company Master Tire changed its name to Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in recognition of Cooper Tires.
It wasn’t until 1995, did they eventually delete the word “Falls” from their logo and branding, leaving the tire line just as Mastercraft Tires.
